A division consisting of Rex Ryan, Gronk, Geno Smith, Ndamukong Suh, and Tom Brady. Since 2002, this division has had a team in the Super Bowl six times. Also, that team just happens to be the Patriots. Yep, we’re talking AFC East today.

Miami Dolphins (2015 record: 6-10): They lost Lamar Miller, Olivier Vernon, and Brent Grimes, They added Mario Edwards and Laremy Tunsil. Plus they added head coach Adam Gase, whose last job was the Bears’ offensive coordinator. Is it crazy to think that they don’t win more than seven games? Sadly, that’s their ceiling, seven games. Although they aren’t going to be anything too special, they have a nice young team, and I think this is Ryan Tannehill’s defining season. Projection: 5-11 (4th place)

Buffalo Bills (2015 record: 8-8): This team’s entire future depends on how Tyrod Taylor plays this year. If the Bills go to a run-heavy offense with “Shady” McCoy and Karlos Williams, I think they could win this division. But if they force Tyrod Taylor to run the entire offense, they’ll crash and burn! I think Rex Ryan turns them into the same thing as his old Jets’ team with a strong, physical defense and a power running game, so maybe this team gets somewhere. Projection: 9-7 (tied 2nd place)

New York Jets (2015 record: 10-6): This team could easily go anywhere from 6-10 to 12-4. It all depends on the Ryan Fitzpatrick contract negotiations. If Fitzpatrick gets signed before training camp, this team has a chance to win the AFC East, but if Fitz doesn’t sign before training camp, this team could (have I said this before?) crash and burn! With a nice backfield of Matt Forte and Chris Ivory, a strong wide receiving core  of B-Marsh and Eric Decker, and a very nice looking defense, I like this team. But Mike Maccagnan and the rest of the Jets’ front office need to get Fitzpatrick signed. Projection: 9-7 (tied 2nd place)

New England Patriots (2015 record: 12-4): SURPRISE! Even with the Brady “deflategate” 4-game suspension, this team is too talented to not win at least 10 games. Jimmy Garoppolo (or as I like to say “GaroppoGOAT”) has been sitting behind the greatest quarterback of this generation, so they can definitely go 2-2 in their first two games (@ ARI, vs MIA, vs HOU, vs BUF), thus giving Brady a chance to have to win only eight of his twelve games he’ll play (barring injury) to win the division title. I’m actually really big on the Pats this year because I don’t see many AFC teams able to compete with them. I think they lock up the AFC East for the eighth year in a row. Projection: 11-5 (1st place)
