No matter what game you play, there will be problems with it. What makes those problems irrelevant is the time the game developers put in to fix that problem. When a problem occurs in most games, especially larger games, the developers hop right on it and fix it in a few hours. That cannot be said for NBA 2K16.

Before I get into this article, let me state this: The look of the game is beautiful. Incredibly realistic, mostly fun to play, and incredibly in-depth. The myCareer mode is one of the best modes I’ve ever played in ANY game. I am not “hating” on the game, instead merely giving a suggestion to one of my favorite games. My problem comes in with the game’s myTeam mode.

I am a huge fan of the 2K and all of its games, especially NBA 2K16, but there are just so many glaring issues with the game that sometimes it’s hard to even pick up my controller, because I don’t even want to deal with the game. From arbitration losses to lack of content, I find many things wrong with this game. Here’s one simple step to fix the problems!

NBA 2K16’s biggest issue is a lack of content. Each week the game releases a new batch of Throwback Thursday and Flashback Friday cards in the game’s premier mode: myTeam. The problem is that most of the time those cards aren’t even useable. One week we get amethyst Dwight Howard as the main Throwback Thursday player, and the next week we get gold Andrei Kirilenko. On both Thursday and Friday, we should get one amethyst, five golds, and ten silver players that could be pulled in packs.

Dynamic cards should be updated daily. Not every single card, but at least ten new ratings should come out every single day. That’d keep the game fresh and not have everyone “cheesing” with diamond Stephen Curry.

Lastly, 2K should take a page out of EA’s Madden NFL 16’s incredibly fun Ultimate Team game mode. The mode is updated every week, weekend, and holiday with HUGE promos that include new players. My favorite thing about the mode is sets. You put a certain number of players/collectibles into a set and get a new card out of it. If NBA 2K16 did that, it would be perfect!

The additions of the Black Market and card-collector reward levels were a great idea to bring to myTeam. Plus the new Gauntlet mode is amazing as well. If NBA 2K16 brought new content and fixed the minor gameplay problems, this game would be a 10/10!
