Yes, there are tons of E3 reviews online, but none like this one. I spent hours watching streams on Twitch, reading blogs, and just overall appreciating the new content us in the gaming community. From great new games like God of War 4 or South Park: The Fractured But Hole to games that we’re not exactly certain about like Yooka-Laylee. Here’s the highlights and the lowlights from E3!

Man, where to begin? Let’s just start with what was probably the most buzzed about game of the event: For Honor.

For Honor: Simply, this game is just a big mosh pit where you are just slashing and dashing. I love it. In all honesty, I really love what Ubisoft did with this game. Graphically, it looks fantastic while still being able to flow very well. This might sound strange, but the way you respawn really reminds me of Star Wars Battlefront I II. A game that contains both a single-player storyline and an online multi-player game mode, For Honor comes out on Valentine’s Day 2017. It will be released for PS4, XBOX ONE, and PC.

Next up, a game from DC’s best protector of Gotham City, Batman

Batman: Return to Arkham: Batman: Return to Arkham is a very advanced remastery of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City (both are personal favorites of mine). Screenshots were released for this game and they show some major improvements in graphics. I, for one, am very excited for this game because, not only did I love both of these games, I am excited for the chance to show many of my friends these games without having to dust off the old consoles.

Now we look at Dishonored 2, a crowd favorite at E3

Dishonored 2: After Dishonored didn’t take off like Bethesda Softworks would’ve liked, they have to decided to release the next chapter in this RPG/Action-Adventure/Stealth game. Personally, I was a fan of the first Dishonored especially because of the in-game ability of your choices to affect the story. If the sequel is anything like the first game, I’ll definitely be grabbing it up!

I was rather disappointed with most of the “major” companies’s presentations (Microsoft, Sony, and Nintendo), but I guess I do have to give a rundown.

Sony: In my opinion, along the the opinions of most, Sony won E3. Now, that’s not exactly a difficult thing to do when your competition is basically just either showing gameplay of things we already knew about or basically only showing off two games. Sony obviously had great success with showing off games such as God of WarResident Evil 7 (make sure to stay tuned to TeenView to see some of us trying out the RE7 gameplay demo), and Days Gone, but I got very confused when they showed us renowned creator Hideo Kojima’s new game, Death Standing, a game in which we get to see The Walking Dead‘s own Norman Reedus’s butt.. Something I was not looking forward to, to say the least. This whole “buttgate” (as I like to say) incedint created a rather strange (and somewhat cringe-worthy) moment. In what was a rather weak E3, Sony still managed to get my vote for best presentation by a major company.

Microsoft: If there was one word to describe Microsoft‘s presentation, it’d be disappointingSony really delivered in the fashion of trying to make the consumer happy with the introduction of some new great looking games. Microsoft managed to introduce us to their slimmed-down version of the Xbox One, the Xbox One S. I was very underwhelmed by that. They did talk about their new 4K/VR system, Project Scorpio, which is more than I can say about Sony, who didn’t even touch on the PS4 NEO.

Nintendo: LOL. Are we even allowed to call Nintendo a “major” company anymore? Luckily, I wasn’t in great anticipation for their presentation, so I can’t say that I was disappointed, but I certainly wasn’t excited by ANYTHING that Nintendo released. They always seem to be a step behind the competition and don’t even try to catch up. Also, they just seem to rely on their own created characters/games to carry them. Well, it’s not working anymore.
